Boost Your Sex Drive Naturally

Updated May 28, 2023

Hey, friends! I figured we should start the month by working to solve a few of the world’s most popular issues. Whether you’re young or not so young, sex drive can be affected by a plethora of factors.

What Could Be Lowering My Sex Drive?

  • Fatigue (physical)

  • Lack of sleep/rest

  • Stress

  • Poor diet (salty, oily foods)

  • Bad Circulation

  • Excessive alcohol intake

  • Pre-existing conditions (diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.)

There is a laundry list of potential causes to low sex drive, the key is to pinpoint the one(s) that apply to you and attack them head on. As you consult with your doctor, it’s a great idea to start looking into natural options that may supplement (or help to avoid) prescription medicine.

Let’s go down the short list – shall we?

Fatigue + Lack of sleep/rest:

Being tired is one thing, but fatigue is more extreme. Fatigue is typically caused by an excess of physical labor (like work), but can include mental labor as well (computer work, overtime). This happens often in jobs that are physically demanding; like construction and athletics. If the work is not followed up with adequate rest, the body begins to shut down certain functions so that others can continue.

How do I cure Fatigue?

Sleep.

That’s it.

“Sleep specialists say that sleep-deprived men and women report lower libidos and less interest in sex.”

Even if you can’t get 8 hours of sleep into your schedule, do what you can. Take naps between work shifts to give your brain a break. Lay down, even if your brain is still running.

My personal suggestion: leave your phone somewhere far (bathroom, kitchen, etc.) and get into bed.

No tv.

Try soft music to see how your brain processes it, or white noise if music is too distracting (beach waves, water running, etc.). The goal is to remove as many things that could trigger your brain into waking back up. Think about your computer when it’s in sleep mode. Press a button, and you can hear the processor revving back up for work.

The term “I’ll sleep when I’m dead” wasn’t meant to include your phallus.

Stress:

Psychological factors can put a damper on sex drive for both men and women, and stress plays a major part.

Factors like relationship problems (romantic, family, peers, etc.) and pressure to perform at work can throw hormone levels off and make arousal more difficult.

Financial stress, school and drama in our social lives can also affect how we function sexually.

How do I Lower Stress?

On a simple level, it’s best to steer clear of people or actions that cause you anxiety – especially right before sex.

In real life, we know that never happens.

If you can, take a few moments for quiet time before getting ready to get it on. This gives your body a chance to re-boot and your mind a chance to de-compress from whatever is aggravating you.

Arguing with a client, getting into a fender bender, having someone cut you in line at the supermarket are examples of things that can elevate stress and ruin your mood. An immediate remedy is to breathe.

Deep inhale through your nose, deep exhale through your mouth. Focus on gently flexing your genitals on the inhale, relaxing on the exhale.

This exercise can actually help lower your blood pressure and regulate your heart rate, too. Try it right now.

That was good – right?

Another tip – keep a mantra in your head. Repeat something calming to yourself, quietly at a regular pace.

“Get that stress outta here.” “I don’t need this today.” Try my favorite;

“Bish, don’t kill my vibe.”

I feel better already!

Poor Diet

You are truly what you eat. Not only can food affect the taste of your ejaculate/cum, it can change the way you function in the bedroom. Salty foods can elevate blood pressure, which can make it difficult for men to achieve erections or women to get aroused quickly.

High blood pressure can also make staying hard a challenge. The body is working harder to pump blood through the body, and even harder to the genitals. Women aren’t counted out, either. As blood flow is crucial to genital stimulation and sensitivity, women with higher blood pressure levels may find it more difficult to enjoy stimulation and take longer to orgasm. This can be frustrating for both parties as they work to please each other.

Wanna fix it?

You don’t have to go into a complete overhaul, but you can start with some major changes in your daily routine.

Start off with increasing your water intake. This is a quick way to start flushing your system, including your blood stream and stomach. When your body is able to function better, it can provide blood flow and necessary moisture to those important parts.

You know – your genitals.

Incorporating more fruit can prove to be useful in more ways than one. The antioxidant benefits can help boost your immune system and help combat the effects of stress. Grab a banana on the way out to work, an apple on the way in – or some pineapple or melons for a tasty snack.
