[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith all the various kinds of vagina shapes and sizes, it may be hard to feel at ease with the one you’ve been born with. Is it too long? Is it too small? Too fat? Too bony? Rest assured that there are other women who share the same concerns, as well as similar sizes and shapes. Each woman is different from the next, but all share the same common bond.

In order to truly understand the complexities of the vagina, one must know the basic anatomy.

The  Labia Majora is the outer portion of the vagina, also called the “lips”. They often serve as a protective barrier against outside dirt and injury for the rest of the organ. The Labia Minora, also known as the “inner lips” are between the outer lips, and surround the clitoris, urethral and vaginal openings. The Labia Minora vary in size and color and shape from woman to woman.

In some women, the Labia Majora encases the vagina within it, as the lips cover the entire anatomy. This would describe many of the diagrams above (see 30, 29, 25, 24, etc). Other times, the Labia Minora protrudes from the vagina and are visible past the outer lips. This is also quite common in women of various ages and sizes, and may progress with time.
